Changes to the Nationality Law will not be implemented until at least September
Nationality through the Sephardic route remains valid at least until September.
The Portuguese Parliament's Committee on Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees decided today (9) that a series of hearings will be held until the third week of September. The agreement was reached after analyses found the proposed amendment to the Nationality and Foreigners Laws to be unconstitutional.

- Experts and institutions representing immigrants will be heard by the Commission
- No changes presented in the proposal came into effect
IMPORTANT:
The Sephardic route remains valid with the same requirements as in September 2022. As the discussion progresses, it is important to act quickly to ensure that the case is analyzed under the current rules.
