Court vetoes anti-immigration package in Portugal, but new changes may come
Portugal's Constitutional Court has ruled part of the anti-immigration package approved by Parliament unconstitutional, particularly the measures limiting family reunification. The veto guarantees the protection of fundamental rights for now, but the government has already signaled that it will push for changes to the law. Read the full article. on here.
Why Portuguese nationality is the safest solution
Political uncertainties show that the Portuguese nationality is the most stable way to guarantee safety and freedom of movement. With it, you can:
- Living, studying and working in European Union countries;
- Travel without immigration barriers within the European bloc;
- Reduce the risk of sudden changes in residence rules for foreigners.
The veto brought momentary relief to immigrants, but the situation suggests that new changes could be discussed again in Portugal.
Whoever has the right to nationality must start the process as soon as possible, ensuring not only legal security, but also the peace of mind of enjoying the rights of a European citizen.
