Lisbon stands out on the global events scene in 2024
Lisbon was recognized as the second city in the world with the largest number of congresses and events held in 2024, according to the annual ranking of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
With 153 association congresses, the Portuguese capital moved up one position, coming in behind only Vienna, which hosted one more event.
This recognition puts Lisbon in the global spotlight, reinforcing its position as a preferred destination for business tourism and international events. The city combines quality and diversity in infrastructure, as well as a professional sector that offers full support for large-scale congresses.
In the ranking, the world top 5 also includes Singapore, Barcelona and Prague, with Lisbon accounting for more than 50% of the events held in Portugal, highlighting its strategic role in the national market. Read the full article on here.
