moveCAST: special series explains changes to the Portuguese Nationality Law
Recent proposed changes to the Portuguese Nationality Law have raised concerns within the Sephardic community. Among the points under discussion are:
- Possible restrictions on the Sephardic path, one of the main access points for foreigners descended from Sephardic Jews;
- New requirements for proving ties cultural and civic ties with Portugal.
In light of this scenario, Martins Castro produced a special series of moveCAST, with episodes in Portuguese, Spanish and Hebrew, ensuring access to clear and secure information.
The episodes cover:
- What changes in the law and how does this impact? who already has nationality;
- Care and strategies for those who have not yet requested;
- How to apply before the end of the road is announced;
- The importance of legal certainty at each stage of the process;
- Perspectives on upcoming developments.
Who has already started the order: will not be impacted, but you need to be aware of developments that may affect the transfer of nationality to children or spouses.
Who has not yet started the process: must consider urgency, as legislative changes may restrict currently available avenues.
